General Rental Terms
Driver’s Age: Minimum age is 21 years.
Driver’s License: The driver must hold a valid driving license for Greece for at least one year. Licenses from all countries are accepted. Non-European Union licenses require a tourist visa. All licenses must be translated into English or Greek. Greek, European Union (for EU countries), or International (for non-EU countries) licenses are acceptable.
Payment Method: For all categories, the renter must present a credit/debit card acceptable to our company to cover security deposits, even if paying with cash. Rentals are prepaid.
Please note that despite our efforts to ensure accurate pricing on our website, occasional errors due to system failure may occur. If we discover a price error on your booking, we will inform you as soon as possible, offering the option to confirm at the correct price or cancel. Usual cancellation charges will not apply if you choose to cancel. If you cancel after payment, a full refund will be issued. If we cannot reach you, we will consider your reservation canceled.
Security Deposit: A deposit will be held on the driver’s credit/debit card upon vehicle pickup and will be refunded at the end of the rental, provided there are no additional charges. The release may take up to 14 days depending on the card issuer. The security deposit amount is €150.
Excess Mileage: For over 3,000 km, there is a charge of €0.12/km.
Fines and Violations: All fines and administrative penalties due to the driver’s fault are entirely the renter’s responsibility.
Insurance: All company-authorized drivers are covered against fire damage and third-party liability for death, bodily injury, and property damage. Both coverages are subject to the general terms of the “META RENT CAR MONOPROSOPI I.K.E.” policy with its insurance company.
Vehicles are insured against third-party liability (excluding the driver) for death and bodily injuries up to €1,300,000 per accident, and for third-party property damage up to €300,000. Changes in these limits will always adhere to Greek law. Damages exceeding or excluded from coverage are paid by the client.
In case of an accident, the renter must call the police and the rental company to enable insurance coverage.
Cancellations: Reservations must be canceled at least 48 hours before the scheduled rental start. For cancellations made at least 48 hours before rental start, any prepaid amount will be refunded. For payments made via card, refunds may take up to 14 days depending on the bank. For cancellations within 48 hours, no refund will be issued.
Damage Waiver: The renter’s liability for damage can be limited to a €750 charge if traffic regulations are not violated. Damages to the vehicle’s undercarriage and wheels are not covered.
Theft Coverage: Theft coverage is optional; if accepted, it limits the renter’s liability for total theft to €700, with an additional daily fee of €20. Police and the rental company must be notified for this coverage to be valid.
Super Cover (SC): The renter can fully waive liability for theft or accident by paying €40 per day. Coverage includes windshield, tire damage, and “Extended Roadside Assistance.” Damage to the vehicle’s undercarriage and wheels is not covered. This option is unavailable for drivers aged 19 and 20.
Young Driver Coverage: Drivers aged 19 and 20 may rent vehicles by paying an additional €10 per day, provided they have held a license for at least 12 months.
Extended Roadside Assistance: This service covers cases outside basic roadside assistance, such as: 1) Assistance if locked out, 2) Assistance if immobilized due to lack of fuel or battery, 3) Tire replacement. This service costs €3 per day. If roadside assistance is needed without this coverage, there is an additional charge of €60.
Accident Administration Fee: A €30 fee applies in case of an accident, regardless of fault, non-refundable.
Penalty Administration Fee: A €15 fee applies for violations under the Greek traffic code, non-refundable.
Additional Driver(s): €50 daily charge per additional driver.
Airport Delivery Charge: Pickup and drop off at Araxos Airport is possible for a fee of 100€.
Cleaning Fee: If the vehicle requires excessive cleaning upon return, a cleaning fee applies. Full cleaning: €100. Partial seat cleaning: €30.
Fuel/Charging Policy: The vehicle is provided with a full tank and should be returned the same way. If returned with less fuel, the difference will be charged to the renter.
After-Hours Pickup/Return: Pickup or return outside business hours is available for a fee of €25 per event.
Roadside Assistance: 24/7 assistance (contact number on vehicle insurance).
